Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build the core infrastructure behind Vestric. You'll work on document processing pipelines, retrieval systems, and the APIs that power our chatbot platform. This is a high-impact role where your work directly shapes the product.

What You'll Do

• Design and build scalable document ingestion and chunking pipelines
• Develop and optimize our RAG retrieval engine (vector search + BM25 hybrid)
• Build REST APIs for document management, chatbot creation, and conversations
• Implement RBAC, authentication flows, and security hardening
• Work closely with the founding team to shape product direction

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Python
• Experience with Next.js, PostgreSQL, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP)
• Familiarity with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, or similar)
• Understanding of NLP concepts, embedding models, and retrieval techniques
• Track record of building and shipping production systems

• Experience building RAG systems or LLM-powered applications
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Experience at an early-stage startup
